Dawolu Jabari Anderson is a fine artist and activist from Houston Texas. Since his university days, which included a fine arts degree from TSU, and various artist residencies through Lawndale Art Center and Skowhegan School of Paint and Sculpture, he has had numerous selected solo exhibitions to showcase his work. His works focus on social critiques of black histories, and their often oversimplified or commodified presentations. His writing has also merged with art as he has worked on a comic series that transforms racist stereotypes into superheros as well as his work on Octavia’s Brood. He is a social justice activism fighting racism through his unique art.
